Fourth Global Forum on Human Resources for Health

The fourth Global Forum on Human Resources for Health – “Building the health workforce of the future” took place at the Royal Dublin Society, Dublin, Ireland on 13-17 November 2017.
The forum provided a key opportunity for the global community of health workforce experts to discuss how to ensure an adequate, fit for purpose and sustainable workforce to address current and future needs. Stakeholders had lively dialogues on innovative approaches towards advancing the implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030 and the recommendations of the UN High-Level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth, and showed a collective commitment to developing and making available the workforce required to deliver the SDGs.
The forum concluded some actions with the adoption of the outcome statement entitled “Dublin Declaration”.
Eszter Kovacs from Health Services Management Training Centre, Semmelweis University attended the forum and summarized the main outputs and lessons learnt from the Joint Action on Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting (JAHWF 2013-2016) at the oral presentation session “Modelling Health and Social Workforce: A Planning Priority”.
